Danville Residence
This new home designed for a client in Danville CA, was set to replace the old and outdated home with completely new construction, and provide a space that is much more efficient and enjoyable than its predecessor. The project aimed to bring a modernization and new design language to the neighborhood, while maintaining a consistent form and size with the existing homes surrounding the property. The project features a long gallery space which cuts through the middle of the home, and directs individuals to a view of the pool in the rear of the property. It also features an abundance of glazing and clerestory windows throughout, providing ample natural daylighting, and natural ventilation. The project utilizes a richness of neutral-toned materials including stones, concrete, wood, and metals in order to root the project into the landscape. A large stone wall lines one side of the gallery space, providing a main axis for the project, while smaller stone walls along the sides provide a balance, and consistency throughout the design.
